Meaghan + Ben

August 30th, 2010 — Add a comment »

Lets talk about the details from Meaghan and Ben’s wedding first. Their day consisted of “Just Married” kicks, Rock Band, cigar rolling, a photo booth featuring life size cardboard cutouts, Polaroids, and Cold Stone Creamery, just to name a few of their fabulous details.

I met Meaghan a few years ago when she was working as a coordinator at the State Room, so it was no surprise when I saw their reception space. And in providing additional activities for guests, no one was left sitting alone in the corner, if they weren’t interested in dancing. Great idea!

Married: 8.21.10
Ceremony: St Mary – St. Catherine of Siena
Reception: Artists for Humanity Epicenter
Dress: J.Crew
Cigar rolling: Boston Cigar Factory

Erinne + Jeremy Engaged

Last week I met up with Erinne and Jeremy at the DeCordova Museum, one of my favorite museums in the city, and did a bit of wandering around the sculpture garden. Then we headed off to Somerville for a little flash back. Jeremy is a musician, and plays at The Burren several Saturday evenings, and on one of those evenings a few years ago, Erinne happened to wander in, and enjoyed what she saw!

Andrea + Andrew

Last weekend Andrea and Andrew were married at Sel de la Terre, a fabulous restaurant on Boylston Street, if you haven’t been, go! And you can’t showcase a restaurant wedding, without showing the goods, but I’ll get to that in a minute. My favorite part of their celebration was their actual ceremony, preformed by their families. In Massachusetts, anyone of your choosing can be granted permission to preform your wedding ceremony. So with a quick wave of your pen, and a $25 processing fee, you can be magically transformed into a marrying machine, or at least for the day. But my absolute favorite part of their wedding was when Andrew went in for their first kiss, just a few seconds too early…

Married: 8.7.10

Eliza + Paul

Last weekend I had the opportunity to explore a new area, Bar Harbor Maine! Eliza and Paul chose to have their destination wedding in this stunning location, and lucky for me, I got to be a part of it as well. The scenery of Northern Maine is what has always come to mind when I thought of New England, and although Boston doesn’t look anything like this, I’m sure glad a neighboring state does! Thanks for sharing your wedding weekend with me Eliza and Paul!

Melissa + Danny

Saturday was a fabulous day for a wedding on the Goldstein farm (if you waited for it to stop raining.) I told Danny if I hadn’t already made arrangements for my our wedding, I would want to get married there too, their farm is simply stunning.

I loved so much about Melissa and Danny’s wedding it is ridiculous, and they had the best first dance I have ever seen. Both being involved in theatre, a choreographer friend helped them put something together, and it really paid off! The bridesmaid dresses were also custom designed for each woman, to match their own style and personality, how cool is that!?

Married: 7.24.10
Ceremony + Reception: Family Farm Shelburne Falls, MA
Dress: Amsale
Catering: Blue Heron
Band: Lapis Luna Orchestra

Meaghan + Ben Engaged

July 21st, 2010 — Add a comment »

Meaghan and I first met a few years ago when she was also working in the wedding world. And as a hopeful bride to be, she decided I would photograph her wedding one day, and as life would have it, Ben proposed just a few weeks later. Fast forward two years, and we’re quickly approaching their wedding next month at the Artists for Humanity Center. Justin Timberlake has been sent a formal invitation, but even if he doesn’t show up, I’m guessing it will be one good dance party. Another first for me was photographing the two of them individually (see below) for their life size cardboard cutouts that will be at the wedding. Needless to say, I’m quite curious to see these props in action.

And what better way is there to end a session than in a pool?!

For all of the wedding blog hunters, The Loveliest Day is another fabulous resource for all of those planning their wedding, or simply for people who love beautiful imagery. Melissa was kind enough to request a feature of Brittany and Kara’s engagement session, so if you haven’t gotten enough of these two, head on over to have another look at this saucy duo. But while you’re there, be sure to page through the rest of her posts, there’s beautiful work galore! Thanks Melissa!

Two things I really loved about Nicole and Michael’s wedding, one the team of bridesmaids it took to dress Nicole. And two, invisible double dutch dancing, that was a first for me!

Andrea and Andrew are both graduates from Harvard University, so it only seemed fitting to start their session in and around the square.  See you again in August!
